From the CP
Welcome to our website! We
hope you enjoy it.
Our renenacments are historical,
theatrical, educational activities that provide a safe, intensely compelling and
enjoyable outlet for people who have an interest in small unit infantry
engagements, and military history in general. As I look back at all the
OPs we have put on over the years it is very gratifying to see this bunch of
guys produce so many outstanding operations. I slaute everyone of our
members that make these OPs possible.
This is our 16th
year of continuous operations! Ooftah! We present OPs that showcase the
roll of elite forces of many nations throughout modern military history.
Our activities center around the research, planning, and execution of OP
that occured from WW2 to the present. In our ops participants can feel the
sensations of combatants in the engagements we present.
Cimmerian MilSim renactments allows participants
to immerse themselves in "soldiering"- but without the "down side". Our
interest in soldiering stems from a three things
...
1 the greatest respect for those who do it for
real and a passion for educating others about what our countries protectors experience
2 the surprising fact that many aspects of soldiering are enjoyable 3 soldiering requires
practicing the traits of the noble warrior; those of honor, selflessness,
tactical prowess,
and respect
for one's adversary. We try to follow these things with unimpeachable integrity
and awareness. These traits are
required to participate in MilSim OPs, which makes our activity unique, and
often very insightful.
AEGs are only one of the many props we use to
execute our reenactments, or "operations" or "ops", as we prefer to call them. Our OPs do not resemble competetive
games. They look more like realistic
military training exercises- to the extent that (mostly) amateurs and
civilians can pull such things off!
While an interest in military history serves as the foundation of CAA's
MilSim OPs, our pursuit is driven by far more than "what happened" in an actual
combat engagement. For us, it is all about
fostering the camaraderie of brothers-in-arms, enjoying the single common
interest in
the objective that bonds soldiers to each other and pushes them to rise above
thier own individual limitations. Re-creating this experience is
our mission.
The OPs themselves, which
are very, very exciting theatrical exercises, are only one aspect of the CAA
operations.
The club is engaged in
charity fund raising for special operations warriors [SOWF] and other military charities
we identify with. Please support our ongoing mission of helping those heros who sacrifice so much for
us. Click a google ad or make
an extra donation at an OP it supports our mission of
education and other charitable purposes.
We are also engaged in
the research, planning and development of our monthly OPs. Every volunteer opcom is responsible to do their best
to create an accurate representation of the slice of military history presented
each month. He is supported by the S3 shop and the
whole organization.
This year will
have tremendous ops each month, and we look forward to welcoming our
friends - old and new - to participate with us. The CAA's informal motto- POGOEM!- says it all: Putting On Great Ops Each Month.
Ooftah!
