The January 2009 Cimmerian Re-Enactment Will Be
OP: DIAMOND CUTLASS
As part of operation DELIBERATE FORCE in the Bosnian theatre, NATO forces were employed to find fix and destroy Bosnia Serb Army [BSA] SAM batteries in the Mt. Igman area through the winter of 1994-5. These DEADEYE missions were carried out by a variety of NATO specOPs elements. With air tactical transport support from french and USAF units.
In the course of these DEADEYE missions at 1716, a French Mirage 2000K [designated EBRO33] was shot down by vehicle mounted surface-to-air missile, 20 NM SE of Pale; two good chutes were observed Mt. Igman area; efforts to locate and rescue the downed aircrew continued around the clock, supported by a wide variety of NATO and National assets, for the duration of DELIBERATE FORCE. A German Sikorsky CH-53 G helicopter using the tactical call sign 84+ 54 on a SAR sortie for EBRO33 was also shot down.
Our renactoemt will be a alpine/acrtic OP on snow with authentic mil-arctic gear. BSA and NATO forces will clash in heated battle and stealthy enagagement.

OPERATIONAL LOGISTICS:
Recon and Camping: This is an ARCTIC TAB qualifying OP. Hump your gear into the AO and Stay 2 nights. Earn the Tab!
LOAD OUT: Modern combat reenactment. As always we expect operators to DO THEIR BEST to wear a military uniform.
NATO: Snow Cammo and any NATO BDU under.
BSA: Snow Cammo and any mixed BDU under [OD or woodland].
This is an operation in snow. Snow shoes and waterproof clothing are highly recomended. Force ID will be by ABT.
View our Snow_lessons page for insights into Operations in Snow OIS. We will have a significant amount of partolling and movement to do on the snow. As many operators from Swift Dagger can attest, snowshoe are very useful.
The advance group will be camping at the AO Friday night.
BBs/AMMUNITION
As always, all operators must use Excel Biodegradable BBs in either 0.2g or 0.25g. NO OTHER BB IS PERMITTED due to environmental impact issues. Operators who are discovered using any other type of BB will be immediately ejected from the AO and will not be invited to participate in future operations.
Excel Biodegradable BBs in 0.2g and 0.25g weights are usually available for sale at the AO for $15 per bag.
REGISTRATION
ALL REGISTRATIONS FOR CIMMERIAN OPS ARE HANDLED THROUGH THE AUTOMATED REGISTRATION SYSTEM (ARS).

If you are interested in experiencing a Cimmerian historic combat re-enactment event, all you need to do is submit your contact information into the ARS and sign the e-waiver (mandatory). CAA staff will review your information and will contact you. Once you have received an approval from CAA staff, you will not have to supply this info again in the future. From then on, you can use the registration link for "Cimmerians and Approved Operators" listed on each Operation page. An automated confirmation will then be emailed to you.
1. If you are a NEW PARTICIPANT and have not operated with the Cimmerians before, please go to the ENLISTMENT STATION and follow the instructions. A Cimmerian representative will contact you in response to your submission.
2. If you are a CIMMERIAN or you regularly operate with us as a "Participant in Good Standing", if you have not yet used the ARS you must visit the ENLISTMENT STATION page and follow the instructions to get registered in the ARS system.
3. If you are already active in the Cimmerian ARS, you can go directly to the ARS page to register for this Operation.
